David A. Wilson works for the Chicago Transit Authority and will present an illustrated program on the history of the West Towns streetcar system that ran through Berwyn until 1948.
He will outline where the streetcars operated, who rode them, and why. You will hear various anecdotes, such as the time the Berwyn Police imposed a speed limit on the streetcars and arrested the motorman for speeding!
The program, which will last about an hour, is open to BHS members and the public. Opportunity of Q&A at the end.
